PlanetaEXO reveals 15 ecotourism destinations in Brazil for 2026
On February 2, 2026, the PlanetaEXO platform released a list of 15 ecotourism destinations in Brazil to visit this year. The selection spans the North, Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South regions, covering biomes such as the Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, Atlantic Forest, and marine areas.
Among the destinations are Lençóis Maranhenses (MA), Chapada Diamantina (BA) with its 38,000 km² area, and Vale do Catimbau (PE), which houses over six thousand rock art records. The Pantanal, the largest wetland in the world, appears with options for boat safaris and jaguar watching.
The survey also highlights Fernando de Noronha (PE), focusing on preserving species such as the spinner dolphin, and the Abrolhos archipelago (BA), which contains the largest coral reef in South America. According to the platform, the initiative comes at a time of growth in nature tourism in the country.
