The 38th Guam Micronesia Island Fair (GMIF) returns from October 23 to 25, 2026, bringing three days of traditional performances, regional food, crafts, and cultural demonstrations to Governor Joseph Flores Memorial Park, better known as Ypao Beach.

Organized by the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), the annual festival takes place in the heart of Tumon, Guam’s main tourism district. This year’s theme, ‘The Tides and Traditions of Micronesia,’ highlights the cultural ties connecting the islands of the wider Micronesian region.

For international visitors who may know Guam primarily for its tropical beaches, resorts, and World War II history, the fair offers a different perspective. Instead of experiencing Guam only as a vacation island, travelers can use the event as an introduction to the cultures and communities of Micronesia.

‘GMIF is something we look forward to because it brings our region together right here on Guam,’ said GVB President and CEO Régine Biscoe Lee. ‘We want people to come out, spend the day at Ypao, enjoy the performances, try something new and take the time to talk to the people behind the cultures we’re celebrating,’ Carillo said.

The location itself should appeal to overseas travelers. Ypao Beach is a popular recreational area along Tumon Bay, placing the festival close to many of Guam’s major visitor accommodations and attractions.
